Evening thoughts

The light is changing. Even in full sun.
I can feel Summer's kiss goodbye.
Tonight the fire is lit and across the valley
Crynant mountain is dressed in mist and shadow.
Night gathers round my home

I know many people love autumn - for them it is their favourite season - all the colours of fire and gold rich against the ripening earth. Porridge in the morning, warming soup and bread for lunch and casseroles in the oven for tea. Crumbles, pies, custards and puddings.

But oh how I wish we had had a summer, maybe then I would not be so reluctant to turn my face to the change in season

Same here... autumn is most wonderful when it's tacked onto the end of a long gorgeous fulfilling summer.

But hey, nothing we can do about it so... attacking those warm stews, hot chocklits and warm sweaters with gusto now.

Summer's kiss goodbye.....I like that....great line!

I don't feel like I did enough this summer. I would like to make up for some of that laziness as autumn starts to emerge.

Sorry you didn't have more sunshine....

I have just heard via sky news that we are about to have a few day of an "indian summer". The sun will shine for thur, fri and sat I tell thee! Get the legs out woman! By the way stocking and dancing are a dangerous combination wink wink!

Yes, the light is changing, I noticed that just this morning, how a different section of the lake was lit first as the sun came up; it's almost the equinox. Fall is my favorite time, too. Will have to google the Crynant Mtn., I realize I know nothing about mountains in the UK, but I think of most of them as being older/lower - is anything above tree line?

Sian- Isn't that funny? Summer is my least favorite time and people look askance at me when I tell them I adore winter.

But every season is beautiful, we just have to adjust our outlook. And there's always next year, right?

Thanks so much for stopping by our place today. Edward and I have enjoyed our visit here very much!

It seems so many people did not have much of a summer this year. The autumn and winter are my favorite seasons, so I'm happy to see them arrive. And of course, for Edward, the colder the better!

You are welcome at over at our place anytime! Best to you fromus both!

I know what you mean! Normally I love autumn. But that's because it comes after summer and we haven't had one of those! I'm hoping that my love of autumn will soon return. It will probably return in time for winter!
